Change of bulk activation password
 

Hi,

We have BES5.02 SP2 and looking for some tool or method where i can change the activation password in bulk for existing users on BES.

We are in process of change in BB sets for large number of users around 2500 and want to know if there is any option where we can change the activation passowrd in bulk.

Users don't have an activation password. You only set a one-time activation password when you want to do an Enterprise Activation for a user and this is only valid for a certain time (48 hours by default).

It you want to set a one-time Enterprise Activation password for multiple users (because you want to "Mass Activate" many users) you can go to

Manage Users > Manage multiple users

Choose the users you want to change the EA password

Click "Specify an actiavation password"

HI,

thanks for same.

In my scenrio we are upgradaing the handheld devices of around 1500 users.

So when they recieve new set we have to set the acitvation password for each user.

So looking a tool whcin can help ot reset the activation pwd for atleast 50-100 users at one go.

As I said in my previous post, I would use the "Manage multiple users" feature of BAS. You can set the Activation password of multiple users at one go with this.

FrV is right. After you do what he says send a mass e-mail to everybody with step-by-step directions. Here's a draft of what I send from the BES with the automatically generated e-mail. Feel free to modify as you see fit. Your mileage may vary.

+BlackBerry Activation Password
To activate your BlackBerry Device select "Options" from the main BlackBerry screen; then select "Advanced Options"; and finally select "Enterprise Activation. (Some BlackBerry models may need to first press the BlackBerry button to the left of the trackball, then select ""Options"; "Advanced Options"; "Enterprise Activation.")

Enter your e-mail address in the "Email:' field and the password listed below to activate the BlackBerry on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. You will need to enter this password in the next 48 hours.
Please see the example below:

Email:YourEmailAddress@yourdomain.com
Password: $p

Click to show the menu and select Activate on the BlackBerry. (You may be prompted to turn the wireless On.) The activation process should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. In some circumstances, this could take up to an hour. If you are experiencing issues activating your wireless device, please let me know. Please keep in mind that the Enterprise Activation Password is not related to your BlackBerry Device password. The Enterprise Activation Password is a *one-time* use password exclusively for your Enterprise Activation.

No. It is the "Manage multiple users" feature. Find below how to use it:

Manage Users > Manage multiple users

Choose the users you want to change the EA password

Click "Specify an actiavation password"
