Enterprise IM - Lotus Sametime - Presence Awareness not working
 

Hi, I hope I've posted this in the right place!

We have recently added Enterprise IM functionality to our BES server, providing Sametime to several of our users.

Users can log in, chat and enjoy all the features of Sametime except one - online presence awareness in the mailbox. This worked for the first couple of days of the service being live, but it no longer works on any of our devices. Presence awareness works fine in Notes client.

I cannot find any preferences regarding this feature on the BES or on the handhelds, nor have I found any technotes relating to the issue.

Versions:
BES: 4.1.7 on Domino 8
Sametime: 7.1.5 on Domino 8.5.1

I am unsure whether to log this issue with IBM or RIM, so I thought I'd try the forum world first! Any assistance gratefully received!

Which ST client are you using? RIM or IBM?

Do your users have many Sametime contacts?

Hi,

We're using the RIM ST client, and some users have global distribution lists as contact groups, each group can contain up to 300 users.

I notice that when I go into a contact entry on the Blackberry, I see presence awareness there if the colleague is on Sametime.
