Default Help with BES Express Installation/Config

Please Login to Remove!

Can someone help me with this. I installed BES Express on a SBS 2003 server. During the install I get a message that no global catalog servers were found and that I could not authenticate through AD and would have to use the administration service instead. I continued with the install but I am not sure if this is causing part of my problem below.

When I logged in using the administration console and created a user, sending an email with the activation password. When I connected the Blackberry using the web desktop, it does not seem to acknowledge that it is connected.

I'm not sure that the ActiveX plug-in installed. I was getting a warning in IE so I added the web site to the allow sites list on the local intranet. This made the warning go away but I don't recall seeing the option of installing the ActiveX plug-in.

Any help would be great as I don't know were to go from here or what to do to resolve it.

Thanks
Kens

First you have to make sure that BES sees a global catalog server. If you can't get that to work, you don't have to go on with the installation.

I have checked the AD and the box is already ticked for the Global Catalog. How can I make BES see the catalog server.

BES should find the GC automatically. Have got the latest MAPI/CDO package installed?

it is a sbs2003 it is all in one. He does not need mapi/cdo package as bes sits on exchange. Have seen that issue in the past on my clients and was not able to solve it.
Used administration service login instead and it works, but would prefere ad auth also.
sbs box is not the best to play with as there is so many services on it.
