Default Questions about 2 Domains and 1 BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there, I have a few questions about an upcoming move I'm facing.

The scenario - I currently have one BES (5.0) and a sql 2005 database within one exchange environment on one domain. We've recently acquired a company with the same environment but on a smaller scale. There's a two way trust between domains and the exchange portion of the migration will be completed prior to the BES move.

The question I have is in regards to moving the users from their BES to ours. Is the transporter tool capable of handling this procedure between two domains? I've only used it during a migration from old to new hardware within the same domain.

In the event the transporter tool is the route to go, how do the migrating devices deal with the security policy? Would they take on the policy from my BES or would they be rejected due to the policy already in place from the BES they're moving from? What we're trying to avoid is any downtime, especially if the case is manually re-activating every user being migrated.

As a side note this will effectively double the amount of BES users, bringing me up to about 1500 on one box. Ive seen cases of administrators breaking them up for numerous reasons whereas RIM states it supports 2000 users. My hardware is up to standards for 2000 users, as per RIMs guide, but is there a rough number recommendation before I might start having stability problems?

Thanks in advance for the info and help.
