| | Software configuration removes Docs to Go & other apps

I created a software configuration to whitelist certain apps and blacklist all others from being downloaded. The whitelist/software config works great - the required apps push to the handhelds as designed. However, because I have set the disposition of unlisted apps to DISALLOWED, the software config strips Documents to Go (the core app, standard on the 9650 BlackBerries that we are using) and also the Verizon Push to Talk app. Now users cannot open Office docs, and they also get VZ PTT app errors on reboot (it asks for app connection permissions to be changed, but all permissions are locked on Deny).
The cod/alx files on DataViz' site result in the BB asking for a license key, so I cannot use those. I also tried to extract the resident Docs to Go cod file from a BlackBerry that is not in the software config, and it is not extractable using the desktop manager method.
Does anyone have this experience or can anyone help me with this? Even just someone to commiserate would help me in my dealings with RIM.
