Default Blackberry activation causes exchange message queues to fill

hi all. Up until this past week we were strickly an exchange 2007/BES 5.0.2 shop. We have had some requirements come up for email on ipad and have decided to put a good server in. Since installing the good server, on all new BES activations the activation hangs and my exchange server message queues start filling up with email. The only way to get back to normal is to stop the activation and reboot exchange.

I know this is a blackberry forum, however I am sure many of you are both running BES and good. Are you able to run both BES and good against the same mailbox? I havent tested an activation against a mailbox without good, will do that tonight so as not to crash exchange again during the day.

Has anyone had an issue like this before?

We don't user Good Technology but I suspect that they interfere with the activation e-mail that needs to arrive in the user's inbox unaltered.

Let me clarify some points. This BB activations only fail on users that have both a BB and a good device. I tested last night on my own mailbox. If I have good enabled and try to activate a BB it fails. If I remove good from my mailbox and then try to activate a BB it works. Keep in mind that during the failure, my mailbox is no longer accessible via outlook or OWA and the mapidelivery message queues on the exchange server stop delivering mail, the server needs to be rebooted at this point.

Also the activation email is delivered fine and swept up by the BES, it is the start of the slow sync process that causes this issue to start occuring.

So I upgraded to BES 5.0.3 this weekend and my issues now seem to be resolved. I did three test activations with good active against the mailboxes and all of them worked. I guess it was a BES issue. What it was I guess I will never know.
