I would like to document what happened to me when i attempted to install KAV on my BB servers.
I run exchange 2003, Windows 2008 environment, with BES Express 5.0.2 (bundle 14) with the latest updates. on it.
I removed my current antivirus, and installed the KAV Admin kit on my server running BES Express...and disaster struck.
Somehow, the KAV needed to share resources (IRQs and SQL) and as a result my BB got messed up. I was unable to connect to the Web admin service, nor was I able to do pretty much anything admin side.
after trying to repair the installation, without much success (seems like half the registry entries were gone), i eventually gave up and did a clean re-install.
A fair warning for anyone who tries to do this at home... |
