Default Remote file access and multiple domains

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all.

I'm in the process of setting up our production BESX server (switching from BES 4) and trying to get it right.
The remote file access feature is causing me a headache in our multiple Windows domains environment (several sites, each with its own domain).

So as has been said multiples times in other threads, for remote file access to work, the Local Security Policy needs to "Allow log on locally".
But on my test server, I realized this means that users will need to authenticate locally on the BESX server, before they do so on the remote file server (of course the dual authentication is transparent; they only type in their credentials once).

This is no big deal in a single domain environment, where the BES(X) server and file servers all belong to the Windows domain.
But what if your users are scattered among several domains?
Or what if you just want to access a file server outside of your main domain?
How can we deal with that?
