1. I'm new to IT policies and I'm trying to apply an IT policy to a group, and put the handheld/user to that group, is it possible?
i tried it this weekend, but didn't seem to work.

2. How do I access my corporate files/websites via my handheld.
i keep getting this error:
"A communication failure occurred with the selected Mobile Data Service. The server may be busy, please try again later. If the problem persists contact your administrator."

3. how do i backup a handheld through BES
4. how do i restore a backup through BES.
5. is there a book that someone can recommend that's out there?
i've been searching for books, but they're all on BES 4.0

i'm on a BES 5.0, i have blackberry 8310 (curve), 9800 (torch), 9300 (curve) users.

1. Yes, this is possible. What do you mean by "It doesn't work". Error messages? It might take up to 20 minutes until the IT policies are applied to the phone.

2. Check if the MDS Connection Service is up and running on BES.

3. Backup of the device is automatic over-the-air, nothing for you to do

4. Backup is restored once you activate the device

2. As hit.singh said, go to KB04329-"Could not start the BlackBerry Mobile Data Service on Local Computer. Error 203 The system could not find the environment option that was entered" appears when starting the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service

3. It does backup settings, but it does not backup your applications.
