Default Adding iPhone to exhange BES environment

Please Login to Remove!

Now that everybody wants an iPhone, I'm looking into adding just one phone as a test to see if it can be done without a lot of overhead. I'm running a BES on server 2003 sp2, and exchange on server 2003 sp2. I've read that activesync is used to link the iPhone w/exchange for email. What are the secuiry risks?

BES doesn't come into play at all.

iPhone communicates with Exchange via ActiveSync.
If you need some information on ActiveSync, I'm sure you could google for some whitepapers on security.

Let's start over. You can't add an iPhone to BES.

Exchange 2007 and higher supports ActiveSync natively, or you can procure and install an ActiveSync/firewall appliance (Celestix makes one, for example) to work with Exchange 2003.

Active sync works fine here with Exchange 2003 SP2 with ISA 2004 for ithings.

For 3 years, I used to think that BES 5 was vaporware. Heck, the code name was "Argon." LOL
