Default BES 4.1 - Mailbox Reconciliation: Mailbox & Handheld

Please Login to Remove!

We are on BES for Exchange (4.1.7 MR3 (Rollup) (Bundle 52)), using an off-box install of SQL 2005.

What I want to do maybe simple but my SQL knowledge not great.

On users handsets if you go into the options of a users mailbox, then email reconciliation. There are options to delete on Mailbox, Handheld or Mailbox & Handheld. Now it transpires a number of our users may have been setup with handheld. We want to identify which users these are and send them info on the options and let them choose which one they want.

But how do I figure what a user has it set to? I cannot see anything in BlackBerry Manager, I'm assuming this could be something I could get from the database.

So does anyone know how or where?

Also, is there a way to set these options as defaults for all brand new users activated on the server?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

The standard is to delete only on Handheld. There is no setting on the server (IT policy) to change that for the user. Why are you not sending the info on how to change that setting to all the users?

To backup freakinvibe, there is no way to change that setting via the BES. That is the default setting when you turn on a device - whether it's connected to a BES or not.

Simply educate your users on how to change it and let them change it if they want to. In my experience, most want to change it to 'Mailbox & Handheld', but I do have some who want to leave it on 'Handheld' (I haven't yet figured out why, but to each his own).
No longer a BES Admin, but it was fun while it lasted!
