Is it possible to disable the ability of a BB user from wiping there own BB? Via an IT policy? Thanks!

No, I don't believe that is possible. If the user enters the incorrect password x number of times, it would wipe regardless.

Why would care if the user wipes their BB while being on BES? It's more of security issue if you don't allow it and someone steals the device, then you have a huge data leak in your organization.

RIM doesn't care about the device, they are about the data - all of their policies point to that mentality.

We had a situation where we asked for a device and it was wiped by the owner. And we could not retrieve the information that was on it. We would just like to be able to control that capability at the BES.

No it doesn't. Maybe the user had private information on the handheld that they didn't want anyone to see.

You can't. The device can always be wiped by the user, either intentionally or via excessive incorrect password attempts.

Most corporate Blackberry users are aware of the rules. I would agree with penguin3107, a lot of people keep contacts and numbers that are not company. You may be looking a bit too deep for something sinister that does not exist. Who watches you?
