Default BES 5.0.3 and unity Connection 8.5

i am about to upgrade my voicemail system to unity connection 8.5 and just discovered the following:

Symptom: When UC is configured for single inbox to Exchange, where a Blackberry Enterprise Server is also integrated with the Exchange server to send voice mail out to Blackberry devices, there will be a 10-15 min delay between the time the voice mail hits Exchange before the notification is picked up by the BES.
Conditions: UC with Single Inbox to Exchange BES integrated with Exchange
Workaround: Need to add documentation indicating that this behavior will be seen due to how EWS notifications from Exchange to the BES don't occur and that the BES polling interval may need to be decreased for messages to be picked up sooner.

basically voicemails will hit outlook instantly but not on the blackberry devices till 10-15 mins later

Cisco suggest to decrease the polling interval, but as per the posting on the other forum there does not seem such an option for bes 5.

does anyone have any ideas what can be done? i cannot believe this particular issue but PO has been placed for voicemail upgrade and staying with old system is not an option due to incompatibility with exchange 2010

If you haven't found out yet, there has been a fix for this issue. Let me start out by saying that the BES environment has to be at version 5.0.3 MR5. Then on the UCONN side you can either upgrade to version 8.5.1su3 depending on the version you are on or you can contact Cisco TAC and request ES 65 for UCONN 8.5.1su2. You will then have to apply the ES and then run some commands via the CLI in order to "activate" the ES. Here is the Cisco bug information. I hope this helps.
