Question Upgraded BB 9300 to OS6, device empty?

Please Login to Remove!

Posting here as I'm wondering if it's because it was configured to talk to our BES Express and the update was done locally via Blackberry Desktop but...

One of our guys has a Curve 9300 which was running 5.x and he wanted to upgrade it to 6.x which I had no issue with, but I've not yet upgraded a Blackberry handset.

So, we downloaded the correct firmware for the phone provider, installed it, ran Desktop Manager and upgraded the phone.

We seemed to end up with an empty phone after the upgrade, and it wasn't receiving/sending any mail despite the BES showing it as having being in contact at the times that test messages were sent to it.

In the end I resent the service books which seems to have cured it, but I have no idea why it happened?

Also I noticed that when we resent the service books it forced the calendar/contacts to resync down, but only email after the upgrade was on the handset, and I couldn't find any way to tell either BES or the handset to "download the last X days mail"?

Thanks in advance.
