Default Can't activate BB Torch 9800

Hi

We have a dedicated BES Xpress server running verion 5.0.2.29 and Windows 2003 Std Server

We have Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 / Exchange 2007

The network provider is T-Mobile

We have approx 7 BB devices connected and using BES with no issues.

We are unable to activate a torch handset. It comes up with request timed out

We then activated a 8900 with no problems.

It is almost as if new model devices dont connect properly.

Does anyone have any ideas why?

if you never had a 9800 on it, then your device.xml might be out of date/BES not updating it.

Hi

Thanks, this makes sense

I downloaded the files, and then browsed to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\ however, there is no folder called APPLoader.

How would I updates these on my version of BES?

Hi

I have been doing some research in to this topic

The BES Express server is not automatically downloading the device.xml file.

There is no Proxy between the BES server and the Internet
Local firewalls are turned off
Local Antivirus removed

I have since installed desktop device software for the 9800 on the BES server. I have manaully copied the device.xml file to the locations.

Hopefully, this will resolve the issue
