Default How do you specify all sites in the "MDS Browser Domains"?

Please Login to Remove!

I've been searching all over the place and the only thing I can find that talks about wildcards for the "MDS Browser Domains" IT Rule is in the BES Manual:

"This rule specifies a list of web addresses that a BlackBerry® device must retrieve using the BlackBerry® Browser and BlackBerry MDS Connection Service. You must separate multiple web addresses with a comma (,). If you want to permit the BlackBerry Browser to retrieve subdomains of a web address, you can prefix the domain with a period (.). For example, you can type ". example .com" to permit the BlackBerry Browser to retrieve all subdomains of example.com (such as mail.example.com, www .example. com)."

But is there anyway to just specify all sites? like *.* or something like that? or like the one in the Proxy URLs like .*://.*(:\d*)?(/.*)*(\?.*)?

(I did find a page on the blackberry site that says you cannot use an asterisk (*) with this rule, only the period for wildcard, so I know you can't use that.)

Thanks.

I haven't tested MDS Browser Domains, but within the BES config, normally Java Regex is used, examples:

Thanks very much for the reply, I tried [A-Za-z0-9.-]+\. [A-Za-z]{2,6} as this works fine to recognize domains (.google.co.za, .yahoo.com) but it still doesn't seem to work with the MDS Browswer Domains policy rule.

I think I'm going to have to go another route to solve my problem.

Thanks for your help on this though.

What are you trying to achieve exactly? If you are trying to force users to browse through MDS for any domain, set the

"Allow Other Browser Services" to "No"

in the "Service Exclusivity" tab.
