Default BES & Exchange POP Connectors

Please Login to Remove!

My client is running BES Express on a Windows SBS 2008 server with Exchange 2007 which collects mail via POP connectors from an external mail server.

We are having trouble activating the BlackBerry Torch handset, can't connect to server. My guess is that the handset is looking for BES on the external mail server.

Can someone please offer advice on a workaround?

If we add an 'A' DNS record (say blackberry.example.com or mail2.example.com) that points to the client's server IP, will this help the handset find where BES is located?

Thanks

Default Re: BES & Exchange POP Connectors

I dont have experience with the 2007 pop connector, but, if it works like the 2003 version, the problem is, it pulls the mail only every 15 minutes. This time interval is not short enough that activation can happen.
Workaround: if you try to activate a device, manually pull the mail several times immediately after the activation of the handheld.
