Default Desktop Backups

I guess this could be a touch off topic but as our org migrates from one mail platform (GroupWise) to another (MSE) we've been doing desktop backups of most devices so we can get back the little things like content store, bluetooth options, call logs, sms, etc as we have to do a hard reset to migrate the phones.

One issue we've had is some of us do the backups on Macbook Pros using the Mac BBDM which makes backups that are *.bbb files and others of us are using Windows machines which make the *.ipd files. Those files don't seem to cross the OS platforms to be readable by the other BBDMs. Has anyone found a way to read those across platforms are is that just how it is?

Try this... it might work.

Rename the xxxxx.bbb file to xxxxx.zip
Try unzipping the file using a normal .zip extractor.
There should be an .ipd file in that zip archive which you can use on Windows BBDM.
