| Problem Push Application from BES Please Login to Remove! Hi all,
I have testing how to push application from BES following the Guide Administration BES with Exchange but never i couldnīt install any application (only remove)
Then, i talked with member of Blackberry STAFF and he told me that if i follow this KB all would be correct:
KB03748-How to create a software configuration to wirelessly deliver third-party applications to a BlackBerry smartphone
Ok, i have followed this guide (it the same steps that the other guide) and it happen the same problem!! the application doesnīt install on Blackberry...
STEP 1- I create the shared network folder on C:\Aplicaciones (the Adminitration Guide say that you donīt have to create this folder on C:\Program Files\Common files\Research in Motion). I have given the correct permissions as the guide says OK
STEP 2 - define the share in the BlackBerry Administration Service OK
STEP 3 - Publish Application --> OK
STEP 4 - Configure the software configuration --> OK
ALL OK, but the application doesnīt INSTALL!!! I think that the problem is the application Whatsapp (I put ZIP with .alx and .cod as guide says)
Should I test with other application? What application? How get .zip?
Have you any ideas?
BES= 5.0
Policy = The member of staff told me that the policy doesnīt matter to install applications from BES (Anyway, I tried with Policydefault and donīt work)
Thanks all!!

| Re: Problem Push Application from BES You have to find the reason why it doesn't install. To do that go to
Manage users > Choose the user you have assigned the application to
Click on the "Software configuration" tab
Click on "View Resolved Applications"
Does your App appear there? If not, click on the "Other configured applications" tab.
If it appears there, click on the "Eye" icon. You should then see the reason why it hasn't been deployed.
Can be many different reasons, for example "Dependent Modules not present" or "Not enough memory on device for application" or "The application is not permitted by an IT policy".

| Re: Problem Push Application from BES Thanks for you reply,
When I do, I get this (I attach the IMG):
Unknown device
Then, the app is the problem? Another App to test it? I have tested with BB 9780 and 9700 and both of them fail
Again, THANKS a lot.

| Re: Problem Push Application from BES Thanks for you reply,
you are right. I have tested with older BB (8900) and its look works.
Then, i get the device.xml in KB (blackberry.com/Desktop/Download/XML/Device.xml) and i copy on c:\aplicaciones\APPLOADER?

| Re: Problem Push Application from BES In BES 5 it should happen automatically, it is using the DB to store the device.xml. You should check the logs and see if BES can update it from the internet (should happen once an hour). | | Offline

| Re: Problem Push Application from BES Search BAS_AS log for vendor.xml and see does it returnes error. Good way to check if your vendor file is up to date is to go to BlackBerry Solution topology > BlackBerry Domain > Component view > View (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) and see if the latest BB models are listed there e.g. 9900,9810,9850,9860 etc. Note that you may need to enable Enterprise Server Policy to see the list of models.
If they are listed there then you should be OK. There are other methods e.g. searching BBAS-AS log. BAS tries to check for a new xml files 10 minutes after an hour all day long e.g. 13:10,14:10 etc. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB13589
Or check global settings table in SQL server. Hope this helps.

| Re: Problem Push Application from BES thanks.
On BAS_AS logs in recents weeks the work "vendor" or "device.xml" is not found...
In Component View the latest BB models are NOT listed....
Note: I have done a search on my server and i got only 1 "device.xml" on C:\Aplicaciones (shared network folder to set this service)
Is shared network folder being good created? (I attach a text) | | Offline

| Re: Problem Push Application from BES OK so from the server that host BAS service, open IE and type following: https://www.blackberry.com/Desktop/D...XML/Vendor.xml.
Does xml file display? If doesn't you'd need to fix that first. | | Offline

I am going to check it
Edit: When i put other PT the BB restart and whatsapp does not appear :(
Edit 2: When I have the PT (Deny downloads of third party app) and I add software configuration I get the message attached, it is normal?
Thanks for you reply.

| Re: Problem Push Application from BES The most important question:
The IT Policy must allow downloads of third party apps to can install Whatsapp APP through from BES?
If it is right, i think that it have not logic because if i allow this service, i can download and install directly in Blackberry... | | Offline

| Re: Problem Push Application from BES Still don't understand why your BES does not get updated XMLs if you are able to open the xml link from BAS server using IE. You have Full BES 5.0.x with BAS service on it,right?
Does BAS-AS log shows anything around 10 minutes after an hour, for example 7:10 or 8:10am etc..? | | Offline
