Default Application Upgrade via BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hello All

We are running BES 5.0 in our environment.

We use the system to publish software to BB devices. I have received an update (.cfg file) for an existing software, basically the .cfg file needs to be placed on the memory card of the devices. How can i publish this without reinstalling/overwriting the existing software on the devices?

Do i need to create a new application policy? Please advise.

Many Thanks

You can't do that.
BES can only push .cod files to application memory on the handheld.
You can't push anything to the media card.

Isn't there any other way through BES I can get this one file to multiple devices?

Cheers, looks like we need to take a different approach to this.

You cannot push it to the media card, but if you send the file to all users via email, with instructions to save it to the media card and run it you might get some compliance. Relying on users to follow directions is often futile, but the right amount of warnings, yelling, wailing, and gnashing of teeth might convince them.
