Default Block Internal websites

Please Login to Remove!

I've read the KB on how to block internal webites but I'm not sure what code to enter for the web patterns for BES 4.1

I would like one pattern to allow all access and then add other patterns to block individual sites. Is this the correct wat to do it.

What would the exact code be for these patterns?

Thanks

That depends on what your naming scheme for internal sites is, are all your internal sites on a specific domain like mycompany.local?

URL patterns should look like this:
*intranet.local:*/* or just *.local:*/*

Sorry, I asked the question incorrectly.

One pattern should allow all access to the internet and then additional patterns to block a few intranet sites (but not all).

To block specific sites, just read this KB from RIM:

KB10342-How to set up pull authorization to grant or restrict access to specific web sites on the BlackBerry Browser

In the second half of the page, you will find the instruction for BES version 4.1.

+1 for freakinvibe suggestion. I assumed he knew about the pull authorization and only looking for URL patterns.

As I stated earlier, I'ver read the article. I've tried several different patterns, but get very eratic behavior. Just looking for a pattern that someone has had succes with.

Thanks

OK, so what have you already tried and what exactly is the erratic behaviour? I.e. what is your allow pattern at the moment and what is your deny pattern?

To allow all traffic use *:*/* and to disallow local intranet deny *.local:*/*

Allow - *:80/*
Deny - site.domain:80/*

I implemented on Monday and it worked fine. Tuesday morning there were internet sites that I was getting a 403:Forbidden access error. I removed the pull authorization and the sites were accessible.

Just an example:

Allow: .*.* (allows any URL)
Deny: www.example.com.*.* (denies www.example.com)

The URL pattern is using Java Regular Expression. For details and examples, see:

RegEx for BES Proxy URL Setting

My experience is such problems are solved easily once you see a video on them. I would advise you to search a related video on youtube. That will make things easy for you.
