Exceed Licenses on the BES Hello All, I recently joined a company and I am managing there BES. I just added myself to the BES and noticed the below message: You have exceeded the number of users associated with your license. Contact support to receive additional license information I hit continue and everything seems to be ok. I can activate the phone and proceed to receive emails. I am not sure how compliant this company is, but I was wondering are there any reason for me to be concerned of if I don't purchase additional licenses? I am going to take this to my manager but just in case he asks me any questions like that I want to have an answer. I am a big fan of being compliant and want to know if there is any negative impact on the devices, like deactivation, BES meltdown, services stopping, etc... that would occur. License summary License type: Enterprise Total number of BlackBerry Enterprise Server licenses: 5 Number of BlackBerry Enterprise Server licenses used: 20 Number of BlackBerry Enterprise Server licenses available: -15 Bes 5.0 Thanks for the help. |
Re: Exceed Licenses on the BES if you are ever audited, there will be some heavy fines BES uses the honor system and will harrass you until you buy the right amount of CALs. Support might not help you until you have enough CALs. |
Re: Exceed Licenses on the BES Moved to BES section. |
Re: Exceed Licenses on the BES Thank you for the replies. I am working on getting a quote on 20 additional licenses. Nothing will go wrong though if I don't get these licenses like next week right? Is it easy to add the licenses to the BES server? Thanks, Rikimaroo |
Re: Exceed Licenses on the BES Nothing will go wrong. Adding new CALs is simple, just log into the BAS, go to Blackberry Solution Topology>Component view>Blackberry Administration Service, Click Edit component and enter the CAL. |
