How to force policy with a set time for lockout
 

Hello all,

I'm trying to force all users to have their BB's lock after 15 minutes of inactivity. The policy is set to:

maximum timeout value = 15.

Does that force it to 15 minutes or does that force the MAXIMUM to be 15 minutes? I believe it just sets the maximum...so I need to figure out where I can force it to be set to 15 minutes.

I'm using BAS Version: 5.0.1.58

only to a max of 15, uses can still set it lower

Is there a way to force it to be 15 minutes (and not be able to set it lower)? Currently we have it set so it is locked out and the user can change the time but one user has 2 minutes and they can't change it to 15 minutes. I'd like to force everyone to be at the 15 minute mark (per our IT Director).

no you can knot force it

the user that cant go up to 15 might be on a diff IT policy or not have the new one applied yet.

The user with the 2 minutes that cannot change has an older IT policy applied and the new one is not being accepted by the device. The only way around is to wipe the IT policy from the device and reload.

Thanks DarthBBerry, I assume that means I need to wipe the device to wipe the IT policy and re-enterprise activate it?

I security wipe will not remove the IT Policy. If you do a resettofactory using JL_Cmder or BBSAK, that will do the trick.

a wipe might remove it if the setting in BES was to allow its removal on a wipe ( not set by default )

But yes usually you have to loader.exe with resettofactory switch or the other mentioned tools above
