Default BES Not Finding Updated User

I always hate admitting that I'm stumped, but I think this one has got me:

I have a user that recently moved to us from a different branch (A), that managed their own Exchange server and their own BES.

When this user came to us (B), we of course set him up with a mailbox on OUR Exchange server, and tried to add him to our BES.

When we try to do this, though, the BES shows him with DisplayName(A), and the Component Information tab shows Exchange Information (A). Understandably, this prevents email from getting to the right device, since A no longer has his mailbox.

I have contacted Branch A's IT department, who have verified that his user account was deleted, and that his Exchange mailbox was purged, but he still shows up in the BES with all the information from Branch A, and not ours (putting in his Display Name (B) in the search field yeilds no results).

We have, at this point, tried completely rebuilding the user's account, to include a new mailbox. The only thing that is the same as his old account is the email address.

The thought is, at this point, that perhaps our BES has somehow cached this information and using it, instead of drawing from AD, but I've never known BES to do that...any suggestions?

BES will cache it for 24 hours or so.

in this case you can have BAS force a lookup or restart the BES mail store service on BES

are you not able to do a mailbox move on exchange instead of making a new one?

Unfortunately, we don't have the ability to move the mailbox between servers - they're on different domains (same exchange domain, though), and there aren't trusts between the two to give departments permissions to each other. (some nimrod intentionally broke trusts before my time).

This infrastructure is going away eventually, and we'll all be in one umbrella domain, but this user still needs a BB until that's ready.

Finally got this sorted. Thanks for the advice, knotty. Bounced the BES last night, and we were finally able to add the user with the right info this morning.

Seems kind of anti-climactic, after beating on this for a week. :(
