Default Tinkering with ServiceBooks of BES ?

Please Login to Remove!

The BES installation files inclde sql-scripts for servicebook-templates.

Has anyone tried to add a custom service book to the BES ?

I would like to "overwrite" the LBSconfig servicebook my wireless provider sents to my very own Blackberry. T-mobile somehow disables the cell-tower-tringulation option for blackberry maps or other applications like poynt.
I found out, that, if I replace the LBSconfig with a SB from a different provider, this feature will work for about a minute.

Since I like this feature and use it frequently I thought, if there is a posibility to make the BES send the correct Service book it might be possible to make cell-tower-triangulation work again.

If someone has experience regarding this topic I would like to hear about, or, if someone knows for sure, that it is impossible, that also is ok.

I think you will find that the BES sends BES specific Service Books to the device but the carrier also sends its own Service Books too.

What i hope, is, when (if possible) i send a sevice book with the same name and purpose as my wireless provider, it may will override the provider supplied SB.

The BES will not send that service book. Try it for yourself. Delete that service book from your device, and then resend the service books from the BES. That service book will not be resent. That is one pushed by your carrier.
