Default SRP Connection getting dropped and established very frequently

Please Login to Remove!

There is a problem with our BES (5.0.3), wherein the SRP connection is getting dropped very frequently.

Once in every hour the SRP gets dropped and re-connected. There is no delay in the re-connection, it gets connected within a few milliseconds. Users are also not facing any difficulties, because the SRP gets established quickly. But still we are worried as to why this is happening.

We have got the issue checked with network team also but could not find a logical resolution.

Kindly help.

hiccups and delays are a fact of the internet. make sure all of your hardware and routing have no issues with RIM IP. I get drops once in a while due to the internet but not every hour. maybe a virus update is choking it or something else syncing

I will say that the BB software is more sensitive to drops than even the firewall we have in place. If our connection drops, BES informs us first and then the firewall tells us that it has failed over. In our case, it's definately an issue with the ISP.

SRP connection re-established immediately once it drops is the design by RIM. This is to ensure you always have SRP connections. Run the bbsrptest.exe for a period of time and take note of the error codes.

Some good links you can study:

Test Your SRP Connection -CodeIdol

KB02068-How to troubleshoot SRP connectivity issues

KB00079-"10060" or "10061" error appears when running BBSRPTest.exe and trying to connect to SRP
