Message queuing when BES is offline
 

Hi,

I recently had a period of downtime on a BES server (firmware upgrade on the RAID controller went wrong eeek!)

When I brought the repaired BES server back on-line, all the messages received during the downtime (about 20 hours) came flooding through to the end-users' Blackberries.

This got me thinking - does the Exchange sever have a queue for messages intended for the BES server or does the BES server simply look in each user's mailbox and forward a copy of whatever hasn't previously been sent to the handset?

Any insight would be appreciated.

think of BES as simlar to outlook, once you turn it on then you get emails.
