Bes express migration - moving users Hi, I'll dive straight in....! I'm migrating a BES express admin server to new hardware and have successfully set up the new server talking to the existing database. I can move a user from the existing server to the new server but when doing so all the email history is lost. New emails are delivered to the handset with no problem and everything else works. I'm doing something wrong somewhere - can anybody explain what?! Many thanks for your time Dave |
Re: Bes express migration - moving users how are you moving them, BAS or via Transporter? |

I'm looking into the transporter now to see if that does the trick thanks! |
Re: Bes express migration - moving users If moving in BAS then youhave both connected to same data base? is this a remote database? usually SQL is installed on BES or some have a dedicated SQL server. |

I've installed BES express on the target server. It's connected to the database fine and appears in BAS as a new server. I can use the 'switch user to different BES' option and it works fine but the old emails disappear, when I switch back they reappear but any emails retrieved while on the other server are then gone. I had a look at the transporter but it seems geared to transferring to entirely new environments? I'm thinking there's something about the structure of how BES caches emails I'm not understanding...? Cheers |
Re: Bes express migration - moving users Tried doing a migration with the transporter having set up a brand new server and database - same result ??! Could this be a problem with the handset more than the server? |
Re: Bes express migration - moving users is the new server prepopulation set to X days? |
