bes express local admin console missing
 

hi all,
i am new to bes 5 . i have installed the express version and can not see the admin console on the windows.

I can however see a admin console which is accessed through a website, does the new bes no longer support local api interface to the bes and all has to be done through web browsers?

correct it is web based only for past 4 years

I also was not very happy with the console from the original release.
But, RIM has made several improvements to it (you can even right-klick an item even if it runs in a web-browser session!).

And you can use the console also with a blackberry handheld.

If there would be a real console for Windows and, a Web-Interface, that would have been the best choice, but its not very likely for any developer to implement this.

All together I find it usable in the meantime, a little sluggish, but, given the option to administer it from Windows, Mac and Blackberry I dont miss the old console very much.
