Can't access internal websites

Hi,

Hope somebody can help, this problem is doing my head in!

We're using BES Admin 5.0.4 and I'm trying to get a certain internal website not to use the proxy that we have in place. All external websites are working fine but when I browse to the internal one from a device I get a message back from the proxy server saying that it denied the specified URL.

I've tried adding it to the Proxy Mappings as a Direct rule, no joy. I've also tried turning off scaleable HTTP, still no joy.

Any help would be gratefully received!

Many thanks in advance.

How does the BES itself acess the network ?
if you have enabled proxy in the windows internet-connection settings of the BES server, turn this off.

Hi nobody7290, thanks for getting back to me.
The BES is on the same domain as the internal web server. I've turned off the proxy settings in IE and the BES can still access the site but the devices can't.

Any other ideas?

Re: Can't access internal websites

When you have added the server you want not to be access over the proxy, with the "direct" parameter, you should put it in top of the list, otherwise the rule will be ignored if a previous rule does match.

also after disabling the proxy from the internet-connection settings for explorer: have you tried to restart the server ?

Re: Can't access internal websites

Hi, I've finally solved this! Here's what I did -

1. Remove the proxy settings from IE on the BES.
2. Remove the default proxy setting within the BES admin centre.
3. Add a DIRECT mapping for the internal website.

Works a treat!

Thanks for your help.
