Default Before installing BDS must the ActiveSync be enabled for Exchange2010?

Please Login to Remove!

Should the ActiveSync be enabled from Exchange 2010 server in order for Blackberry 10 devices to check their emails, calendar and contacts?

I am just confused about understanding what is native apps.

Thank you,

Default Re: Before installing BDS must the ActiveSync be enabled for Exchange2010?

Yes, Active sync has to be enabled. installation manual on page 20 says:
For Microsoft Exchange, any of the following messaging servers:
Microsoft Exchange Server 2003
Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 (Microsoft ActiveSync enabled by default)
Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 (Microsoft ActiveSync enabled by default)

There is no need to expose the ports used by active sync to the internet. Connectivity to the outside world is handled by the BES10 server through the Blackberry infrastructure.
