Ok So I finally figured out why the services wouldn't start. Apparently the java jdk was the right version but jre somehow wasn't. I installed the right version and now the services start. Of course the site still doesn't work. Question though, which server should the link be pointing to the new server or old one? I tried both and no response from either. Also, do I have to stop the BAS services on the old server first or does it not matter?

Strange that jre was not installed, because the BES installer will normally install a correct java version.

it does not matter if you have more then 1 console running.
to access the console use https://newservername.domain.com:3443/webconsole/login
assuming newservername is the server where your BAS installation was successful.

So this is weird. With the services running on the new server, I did a netstat and it's not even listening on port 3443. Also, when I run the BB Server config on the new server, it is listing data for the old server int he Admin service page. So I switch it over to the new server and it indeed shows nothing running on the new server. I am confused. I guess I will try and re-install it on the new server again.

Ok So I re-installed the BAS on the NEW server and at the end of the install, it gives me the urls for the admin site but again, it is pointing to the OLD server. Is that normal? Shouldn't it be pointing to the new one?

if you only install bas, the console url is on the new server. But you should (I hope also in the express version) be able to manage the server where the other components are installed.

regarding the Java problem:
The BES comes with its own java re. Do not attempt to upgrade this java regardless if you are prompted to do so. AFAIK sun might deliver a Java re during that update, which will:
- remove the older installation bricking the BES
- install a new java re which will no be compatible with the BES.

Well I finally figured out what the hell the problem was. It was two things.
1: The version of java was not exactly the same. The BES had v6 20 where as the new BAS had v6 18
2: The BES had v5 SP3 the new BAS was just v5

Once I got them both exactly the same, it worked. Thanks for all of the help all.
