Default BES Database

I'm a new BES admin and I'm trying to get a handle on how this this whole thing works. What gets stored in the database? Also, the Blackberry Database Consistency Service is set to be manually started. What does this do and should it be automatic? I'm sure I'll have more questions but these are the ones bugging me now. Thanks.

What gets stored in the database? Pretty much everything, PINs, encryption keys, backup data, user stats, mailserver, filter settings, etc. Lookt at www.blackberry.com for a complete list of what all is in the database. The Database consistancy service checks for PIN to email mapping. It is only needed if you are doing anything with PIN to email mapping. We don't use it at my company.
