Default Create Address Book in Users Account

Please Login to Remove!

I want to create a new address book called 'BlackBerry' in the users account and then assign this book to be the one that is synced with the BlackBerry device.

I was wondering if it was possible to create a new address book in a users account from the BES somehow? If it is not possible what other ways would you suggest to create this address book, preferably without having to involve the user?

I'm using GroupWise 6.5.5 and BES 4.0.3.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Cheers
Mark

You can't make an address book on the Blackberry - there is only one addressbook on the Blackberry, though you can choose which address book to synch with from Groupwise. We have been using Frequent Contacts which is not a good idea as it's usually full of junk and takes ages.

Our recommendation is that users create an personal address book in Groupwise called 'Blackberry Contacts', and you synch with that. The user can copy addresses into that address book on their desktop if they want to build their BB contact list. If this is a problem for the user, then your Groupwise Admin may be able to create an address book for the user remotely - I know ours won't but that's because he's uncooperative ;)
