Default Adding new Exchange 2003 server

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

We currently have Exchange 2003 and BES 4.0. We are planning on adding another Exchange 2003 server. What steps need to be followed to make sure users on the new server can have Blackberry working? Is there any documentation?

it's fairly simple.

Provide your besadmin mapi account with the same rights on your new Exchange server as on the existing one(s).

The BES installation guide provides you with detailed steps and options for doing this. Refer to the version which matches your BES version and revision.

Good luck.

Role: Exchange View Only Administrator - enabled for each Administrative Group that will host BlackBerry users; open ESM, expand Administrative Groups, right-click on Administrative Group you are administering and select Delegate control.

Security: Administer Information Store, Send As, Receive As - allowed for each Exchange server that will host BlackBerry users; open ESM, expand Administrative Groups, expand Administrative Group you are administering, expand Servers, right-click on each server that will host BlackBerry users, click on Properties, click on Security tab, highlight service account and make allowances for Administer Information Store, Send As, and Receive As.
