Default Minimum spec for the BES - 04-06-2006, 10:17 AM

What is the minimum spec that the BES will run on for around 10 users.
I'm aware of the 2GHz P4 1.5GB RAM but that is based on 500 users.
My BES is running 15 users with 512MB RAM and it is working fine.
I was just wondering about other peoples experience; what spec your BES is running on if you have less than 500 users.

It depends on the distribution of your mail users. Are all your 15 users from a single mail server? If you are expecting more users from more mail servers in future, then you better make plans for hardware upgrade. Take note that...

=> adding more mail servers = needing more working threads on BES = using more system resources
=> adding more mail servers = making more network connections = using more system resources
=> adding more mail users = making more scan to mail databases = using more system resources
... list goes on... SQL connections etc +++++

using more system resources = more memory usage + more hardware etc+++
