For BES users, the on conflict setting rarely comes into play. What it is used for is determining which device wins when there are two different actions taken on a particular message. For example, say you move a new message into a folder on your BlackBerry. Before the change has synced back to your server you delete the message from your mail client. During the reconcile the message is seen as moved and deleted. Your On Conflicts setting determines which action to perform. If you had it set to mailbox, then the message is deleted. If set to handheld the message would not be deleted, but instead moved into the folder. Because the sync between the BlackBerry and your mail server is fairly fast the setting doesnt come into play much.

In short, you dont. What I tell people to do is move any email you want into a new tempory folder in your mail client. Wait a bit for the mail server to finish moving and replicating the changes. Then move the messages back into your inbox on your mail client. All the messages should then be sent to your BlackBerry as if they were new mail. At least that is the way it works for me.
