Default Recent Migration... Only Admins not receiving mail. - 04-07-2006, 09:26 AM

We recently switched servers totally. We upgraded out Exchange client from 2000 to 2003, upgraded BES to 4.0.7.

BES resided previously on the old mail server with Ex. 2000. We were going to leave it there until we uninstalled Ex. 2000 and it took along with it certain admin tools needed for BES to function properly.

Being the impatient people we are, we decided to just move BES from the 2000 box to the 2003 box (we were planning eventually to do this) and we immeditaly had some issues. Issues that were taken care of were the duplicate SRP numbers and BB locking us out.

We eventually last night got the service up and running on the new machine, all users, their stat, etc... transferred over from the older instance of BES (which was at 4.0.7 before being decommished).

Now, this morning only myself and one other Admin are unable to receive emails. We can send them out to other people (BB users and not) and send/receive PIN msgs, but not receive emails.

We've tried reactivating one of our BB's by totally removing it from the BES and re-adding. It refuses to activate OTA. It just sits on 'Activating...' and goes no further.

For what it's worth, we keep receiving these messages in the Event Log:

{*USERNAME*} Old OTAKEYGEN packet is cancelled, Tag=1285

SCS::GetValidP2PKeyBlobFromDB - Failed to Get Peer To Peer Key Sequence.

SCS::CreateServiceBooks - Failed to get the encryption key id, Service Book Creation failed for UserId=19.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

TIA.

Our specs:

Windows 2003 Server
Exchange 2003
BES 4.0.7
Both BB models are Nextel 7520's.

Default Desktop Manager will solve this - 07-31-2006, 06:46 PM

Hi Rjj130,

download the latest copy of Desktop Manager, and activate over the wire. This should resolve it.

we had the same problem using BES 4.1.0.38 and BB 8700's. 3 units would not connect although we had already set 3 up. The only conclusion we could draw was that they were the oldest mobile numbers we had, we did replace the SIM on one phone to be sure it wasn't the SIM BTW.

Cheers,
John

Same problem here with the same Event log error. I bounced the server to see if that cleared up the problem - It did not. Upgraded the 7290 handheld to 4.1 software and it worked OTA after that.

Since we have two BB servers, my fix for this issue was to move the user account to the other BES.
