Hello everyone,

Before I start, I just want to let you all know that I'm just playing with the BES 60 - day trial mode on my already instated Exchange server. I've got a hold of a SK65 for cheap, so I wanted to see if I could set this up.

So far, I've installed the BES with the MDS Connector, but haven't really changed any settings. It's all on the same server (Windows 2003) as my exchange server, since this is a test machine.

I've managed to create an account in the Blackberry Manager-Security Administrator Authority based from an exchange account. I've hooked up the SK65 to the server (after lots of driver playing) and assigned it to the user - Daniel.

Now, I have no idea what to do next. I've installed the Desktop Manager on one of the clients that uses Outlook, set that all up to the best of my ability - but it doesn't sync with Exchange at all. In the settings of the blackberry software on the SK65 the Message Service has only one option: Desktop.

The Blackberry Manger-Security Administrator Authority states that my user has 1 message pending, and has the following settings:
Redirect to Blackberry device: true
Blackberry MDS Connection service and Blackberry Collaboration Service enabled: true
Wireless message reconciliation: disabled
wireless calendar: enabled
Group name: (blank)

The MDS services is showing 0 devices are registered with it.

In the Blackberry manager says that the last contact, forward and send time are Not Available. It says my username / device are "Running" and Redirection is enabled.

Edit: relevant or not.. I went to myblackberry.com and made a new account with the information on the SK65.. not sure what that does though...

Now, I'm fairly new to this so most likely I'm missing something obvious, and I have no idea where to start. I went through the documentation with the BES but I didn't really see anything relevant to this.

Thank you!

-Daniel.

I'd also be curious to see responses to this.

try sending a pin message from the handheld to the handheld.
Meaning crate a pin message to yourself. This should verify that you have services. If it fails you'll need to have the handheld activated by the wireless service provider.
