Default Restoring Autotext - please, please help - 04-24-2006, 11:13 PM

I have 4,561 Autotext entries, and after converting to BES from Desktop redirector, I am not able to restore them. When I go to "Backup/Restore" and then to Advanced, I am able to open the old file, and it shows my data on the left hand side, even shows that there are 4,561 Autotext entries, but won't allow me to choose the right arrow, which would push that file on to my blackberry. And yes, my blackberry is hooked up when I do it. I simply am not able to choose the right arrow (it is faint, not black). Any help would be hugely appreciated, as I have spent the last 3 years creating this autotext language. Thank you!

There's a thread somewhere that addresses this issue. I think the solution was to delete the Desktop Sync service book from the handheld and reconnect it. You should now be able to restore the autotext. You can then "undelete" the service book.

Do a search for "can't restore" or something similar. It's here somewhere.

Go to Settings/Options then Enterprise Activation (or Advanced Options then Enterprise Activation). Hold in the ALT key and type CNFG (multi-tap it on a 7100 device, so CNFFG). Once there, change Wireless Sync to No and then save the options. Restore the data. Do the same the same ALT combo and change Wireless Sync to Yes and let it redo an Enterprise Activation (its automatic and should have no issues - just back out to the home screen).

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
