Default besmgmt marked as suspect - 05-02-2006, 05:25 PM

My bes starts but cannot connect to my dbase.

I am running sql on the same machine as the bes. How do I fix this?

Is this a new install or upgrade?
What's does the error message in the BES logs indicate?
Have you checked the ODBC connection on the server?
If SQL is local is running without errors? What does the event viewer say about the services?
Do a search on "sql database" in this forum. There's a wealth of information on this topic ranging from, required logon permissions of the BES admin account, new installs, TCP/IP settings for MSDE functionality, mixed mode authentication to name a few.

neither, the server was restarted unexpectedly.

from bes log:
(EFFF27F0) -> Database error in OpenDB (err=0x80004005, native err=4060) - Cannot open database requested in login 'BESMgmt'. Login fails.
(EFFF27E5) -> OpenDB: COM Error (80004005): Unspecified error.
(EFFF27E6) -> OpenDB: OPEN_DB failed.
(EFFF27E0) -> DBInit: OpenDB failed - 0.
(6FFFC354) -> Stopping BlackBerry

Thanks for the info, I'll check that out.
I know nothing about sql, no better time to learn.

after alot of reading, I was able to figure out how to get in there and change the status of the databases. Restarted the machine, all is well now.

Thanks for the responses
