I just had to replace my boss's 7750 with a new one. When I activated it on our BES no previous e-mails were loaded. Only e-mails he has are ones coming in since activation. Is there a way to load e-mails that have already been redirected to his old BB to his new one?

backup the message database from the old device and restore it to the new one. You can do this in the advanced tab of backup/restore on the desktop manager

Cool. That leads me to another question.

I have everything else synched. After doing the e-mail restore I want to safely wipe everything from the old unit. Is this the correct and necessary way to do it:

1. Connect old unit and back up e-mail.
2. Connect new unit and restore e-mail
3. Back-up everything on new unit
4. Connect old unit and wipe using DM (Not sure how to do this)

If I then connect the new unit what will I need to do. Will I need to restore from the back-up? Sorry to be so dumb about this, bit I don't want to screw it up.

It might wipe the email if you activate it with it on there... so what I would do is this...

1. backup old unit
2. setup new unit for activation (upgrade OS, whatever)
3. activate new unit
4. restore old emails to new unit

Before you wipe the old unit, I would clear off any security policies that might be on it. Just create a blank IT Policy and apply it to the device (you'll have to register it under some temporary account, I have a test account specifically for this purpose). After it is applied, just use the "wipe handheld" option from the BES manager. That will remove all the data off the device and make it like brand new.
