What would cause this?

An individual is unable to send email (and the user has send as permission was granted in the user objects window)

Possibly your issue could be related to the installation of MS06-019:

Problem just started when they applied the May 9 microsoft security patch. Neither a new Blackberry user, nor exchange user.

ms06-019 was released on may 9. sounds like there's a link.

maybe... tell your users to quit impersonating others?

the change was meant as a security enhancement. i'm not aware of a way to override this.

Im looking for suggestions here, not trying to hoodoo anyone...is that the only thing that this error could indicate? We are on the outside trying to assist.

I'm having the same issue and will be installing SP2 on Exchange 2003. Microsoft states that Exchange 2003 with SP2 does not affect it.

Will let you know once installed.
