Exclamation Wireless email reconciliation

Please Login to Remove!

Just installed BES 4.0 after being thrown into it by my boss.Had never even seen it before. Luckily, install went well by following the installation manual and 9 Blackberries have been associated with the server with no major problems. Wireless activation worked great, Wireless sync works great, but email reconciliation has had a few glitches. Email is sent to the Blackberry without any trouble and most can be deleted either place and will reconcile fine. However, a few random emails when deleted from Outlook will not delete from the Blackberry when reconciled. I am stumped at why this only happens a handful of times. Of course, I am new at this.

Any help is welcome.

Thanks,
Kevin

I have seen this happen if you delete the message without actually "opening it" in Outlook or use a "shift-delete" on a newly delivered email that has not been opened. Not sure if it by design, but I experience it in 4.1 also. Maybe test this out.

It doesn't matter what the read status of the message is. BES must "see" the message move from one folder to another (including Deleted Items) in order to make a change on the handheld. Hard deletes (i.e. shift+delete) and moving the message to a pst (e.g. archiving) will orphan the message on the BB.

Edit: I remember reading that 4.1 has an option for handling these orphaned messages.
