Cool BES 4.1: Increase Enterprise Activation Password Timeout - 06-02-2006, 05:10 PM

All,

Did some searches on this site already, but did not see anything. I have looked through the BES 4.1 admin guide and again, did not see anything. I have been told by BB months ago that the OTA activation password policy parameter can be increased from the default (72 hours in 4.0 and 48 hours in 4.1) to up 30 days.

Anybody know the policy attribute name and have a few snips on where it is?

Any help is appreciated!!!

1bird2,

I haven't used 4.1 yet but the way to get around the default expiry time of 48hrs in 4.0 was to use the Blackberry Resource Kit (BRK) and bring a list of users in via the command prompt.

If the BRK is available for 4.1 i would guess the feature is still there.

The command prompt method allows you to set the expiry time to 720hrs which is 30 days. You can also set the password at the same time which is handy when you want to bring in several hundred users at one time without touching each individual account.

--Good Luck,

Jeff
