Unhappy MDS Browser Problem - 06-07-2006, 03:01 AM

Can any one help. I have the new 8700G model. The local HK operator WAP browser works but when I use the MDS browser, I get the following message:
"HTTP Error 403: Forbidden. You are not authorised to view this page. Please try loading a different page."

I have set the APN to hkcsl & internet but both settings failed.

Do you have a proxy server within the environment? Are you able to browser web sites from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server using IE?

None of the web sites work over BES. Our server is located in US, will this be a problem? Cheers.

Well if the BES is not and to browse any web sites the handhelds will not be able to either. You will need to configure your proxy/firewall to allow BES http traffic. If you have a proxy server you will need to configure it under the proxy tab for the MDS properties, and then restart the MDS service.

If you don’t have a firewall, you will need to make sure you have the proper version of Java installed for the version of BES you are running. You will also need to make sure port 3200 is LISTENING and ESTABLISHED for the bmds.exe. You can use TCPView to check this.
