Default Blackberry controller service problem - 06-07-2006, 10:35 AM

Hi,

I have been moving our BES server from our old NT 4 domain to our current 2003 AD domain, however when chaging over the service domain accounts I have a problem with the Blackberry Controller service.

When I amend this service with the new domain account all mail stops and nothing gets transfered, if I put the old domain account back everything works. I only have the problem with this one service - has anyone else seen this problem before?

I'm running BES 4.0.4.6 on a Windows 2000 server.

Marcus

What account is the BlackBerry Controller service running as? Does that account have access in the new AD environment and Exchange? Do you have the trust setup between your NT and AD environment?

What does the MAGT log say after the account is moved?

The user account for the service has permissions of local administrator, the account does have access to AD and exchange. Yes a trust does currently exist between both domains.

One thing I have notcied this morning is that the account that accesses the mailboxes on Exchange is running being accessed by the old account. Anyone know where to change this? as I have looked all over the palce for the option of changing it. The MAPI profile for the BES is running the new mailbox which is connected to the new service account I'm trying to use.

Where is the MAGT log located?

The account that accessing the Exchange Mailboxes is located within your Windows Services. It will be under the Controller service.

The MAGT log file can be found in the following location:
C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logs\20060608

Note: if the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is installed on the C drive.
