Default BES 4.0 Causes Duplicate Calendar Entries

Please Login to Remove!

I am in the process of moving from a BES 3.6 server to a BES 4.0 server for MS Exchange. In doing so I'm updating the Desktop Manager to 4.0 as well as the 7510 BB to 4.0. The issue is that when a BES 4.0 user receives a Meeting Request and accepts it in their Outlook client, there then two appointments appear. One has been accepted and the other shows Tentative. This doesn't seem to happen when the user accepts the meeting on the BB. Has anyone seen this issue or have any insight as to how I can resolve?

Thanks,

DJM

I have seen this in my environment. I think this is a Service Pack update for Microsoft Outlook and not the Blackberry.

I am running Outlook 2003 SP1 and Blackberry 4.0 (BES and Handheld)

Give that a try.

Default CDO Version is higher than this Post-SP2 Rollup

I am running the latest patches and service packs on both Exchange 2000 as well as Outlook XP. THis issue is also present on Outlook 2003 clients. CDO.dll versions match at 6.0.6603.0.

Any other ideas, I'm stumped...

I've only seen this once and today we blew away the OS on the 7510 and reinstalled it. After doing that the problem went away...go figure!

Any word on this yet? I have 2 users out of 8 so far who have this issue. Frustrating.

We have this problem, and from what I've seen, there is no real fix for it. The only people that had this problem were people that were migrated prior to the entire database cutover. We had 400+ people that were fine, yet 10 test accounts all have dups. We just deleted all the appointments and re-created them since it was only 10...it was a pain, but thankfully it wasn't all 400.

Wasn't there a post around here mentioning the location change of the CDO.DLL is now in the Exchange folder and not the system32 folder? That and version mismatch?

SOunds like it happens mostly with upgrades rather than fresh installs...

I might be wrong, poke about a bit more.

Its an Outlook thing, to do with the way appointments are treated in Outlook

TOOLS > OPTIONS > PREFERENCES > EMAIL OPTIONS > TRACKING OPTIONS and turn OFF PROCESS RECEIPTS AND REQUESTS ON ARRIVAL.

That should fix yer problem

Anthony
