Angry Install (upgrade) to 4.1 gets "Test database connection returned an unknown error"

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

We have our existing blackberry database on a different server to the BES. This all works fine with 3.6.

We are trying to upgrade the server to 4.1 and after tonnes of fiddling we eventually got the setup to load (see earlier post by me yesterday). When it got to the database upgrade stage we entered all the details for the remote database but then it says :-

"Test database connection returned an unknown error"

...and will not allow us to go any further.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

James.

Default

The service account will need to have full SA access to the SQL server (for 4.1). If you are still getting errors you may want to recreate your Database. Also you will need to make sure you are running BlackBerry Enterprise Server 3.6.3 or higher.

Default Same error

Hi,

I am trying to install BES 4.1 for MS Exchange 2003 and get same error "Test database connection returned an unknown error"

I tried the following commands and do not have any probem.

1. Open a command prompt.
2. Type: osql -E
3. At 1> Type: use BESMgmt

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
