Default BES 4.0 w/Exchange2k3 and Wireless BB syncing with outlook

Please Login to Remove!

We have implemented a BES 4.0 server at work and I was wondering if there is an option that allows me to sync my viewed items on my blackberry handheld with my outlook.

For example. On an average day I will recieve about 90+ e-mails and I will read them all on my blackberry when I am away from the office, but when I get back to the office the next day, I have 90+ unread messages in my outlook, so I have to go through them all again and read the ones I havent read and archive the ones I have.

Is there a setting that will allow me to view them on my handheld and then the BES server updates my outlook or exchange account and mark the messages as read?

Also is there an option the other way around? If i read it from my outlook/exchange server, it will update my blackberry and mark the message as read?

This might be possible via Desktop Manager, but is this possible with out using dekstop manager?

I'm not sure about exchange BES, but with GroupWise BES, this is done automatically. Read/deleted are marked as such on both device and desktop. When one marks it read or deleted, the other follows suit, and vice versa.

I guess make sure all your wireless sync options are turned on and functioning properly. Is anyone else in your org having this problem?

I use BES 4.0 on Exchange 2K3 with Outlook2K3 and it will do what you are trying to do. You just have to make sure that wireless reconciliation is turned on. Go into messages on your handheld, then click wheel, go to options, then “Email Reconcilliation”.
